Back in 2015, our #SGSteam was already part of the team for the construction of the Swiss Krono plant in Vásárosnamény, Hungary. Now, almost 10 years later, we had the opportunity to once again contribute our expertise to its expansion and modernization. Our tasks included the mechanical assembly of a drum dryer, the wet chip bunker, the energy system, screening area, as well as the machines for wood processing and the press expansion.

The Swiss Krono Kft. Hungary plant has been modernized and expanded within 11 months. The challenge here was the specified schedules and the implementation in the existing system.

Project start was in April 2024, our #SGS team has prepared the outdoor area for the enclosure in the spring. The new system was integrated during a six-week shutdown. At the same time, the forming station was being expanded and the continuous OSB press was being extended. The existing combustion chamber from 2015 has been also dismantled and reassembled during the same period.

The existing lintel combustion chamber will be dismantled and then reassembled by the #SGSteam.

We are very pleased to be involved in the expansion and modernization following the original order in 2015. And shows once again that they are satisfied with our performance and our cooperation. We are looking forward to implementing this project together again.

SWISS KRONO Kft. Hungary produces modern, health-friendly and ecological wood based panels from the natural raw material wood. The wood based panels are practically produced using a CO₂-neutral technology. At the production site in Vásárosnamény, all production waste such as bark or chips from wood shredding are converted into thermal energy in a special biomass power plant and used for the production process.
